What is Voodoo?
Voodoo can be a traditional religion that had been born in the western side provinces of the Grand mother Continent, Africa. Voodoo became widely recognized because of the well known African slave trades that occured many many years back.
The correct spelling vodou with regard to voodoo is actually Vodou. Vodou was born inside west Africa along with during the importation involving slaves it afforded birth to Dominican Vodou, Haitian Vodou and Louisiana Voodoo.
Dominican Vodou when i call it - is basically Haitian Vodou, only, practiced inside the Dominican Republic. That difference is not fantastic. We use almost all the same Loas, and most of the same events, only with a "twist". Obviously, one huge difference in practice will be the language. Although, that Loas when "mounted on a horse's head", regardless if the form of transport speaks Kréyol and not, the Loa in the "head" could speak certain key phrases in Haitian Kréyol. Another language voiced by some Loas (especially Anaisa Pyé), is French. Yet once again, the same house or office horse's first ceremony vodou language, the Loa with head will speak out it.
Contrary to popular belief, prefer Haitian Voodun, practitioners of Dominican Vodun believe in one significant God, the Initiator, Papa Bon Dyé (the good God) as although psychologically absent from the Earth, he is still superior to us all. Once these Loas arrive, they require there things (fula, drinks, cigars, along with what ever else some want to wear so they can use), these things have to the Loas by La Place, this can be the person responsible for providing them with all of the above.
